We at SLCC SOAP believe that poverty can be eliminated through education.
Many people in underdeveloped countries are living in poverty. It is our firm belief that the chief cause is the lack of opportunities needed to improve their situation. One of the key opportunities that can be given to an individual in these circumstances is the chance to gain an education.
Through fund raising, SLCC SOAP will provide opportunities to gain an education that many of these people so desperately want, and need.
Our dream doesn't stop here!
By helping a person to gain an education, they will be in a position to improve their community and help provide opportunities for others. This will create a self sustaining and growing improvement of living standards in the areas these people live in.
It may seem like a small thing to educate one or two people, however, if you teach one or two, and they teach others, this improvement will grow exponentially.
The old saying is "Give an man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime."
